Leave Kunming in the morning and drive to Stone Forest (Yi people’s region). An 80 ha site of fantastic limestone formations created during the Permian Era when the sea covered this area. Stone Forest is in the World Heritage List and managed by the traditional owners the Yi people inhabited here. It is famous in China and unique in the world. Visit the Stone Forest for 2.5 hours, on the way back to Kunming taste famous local flavor Yiliang Roast Duck as lunch.
In the afternoon Kunming downtown, make your way to the Kunming Old Street. It features well-preserved traditional architecture, charming stone-paved streets and a lively mix of local shops, cafes and restaurants.
Day 03 Kunming to Jianshui by driving B/L/D
Leave Kunming in the morning and drive to Jianshui. The small city Jianshui is the cultural center of southern Yunnan province. In the past, the people of this city became very rich due to the natural deposits of tin. So now, you can see many private houses with typical Chinese architecture style in the city. You will have a chance to visit one of them - Zhu Family Garden which is formed by 250 rooms and 42 courtyards, It's even much better than the gardens in Suzhou. Then visit the 400 years old Chaoyang Tower which is even 24 years elder than Tian An Men in Beijing. And stroll around in the old part of Jianshui Town and see ancient wells that have been used by local residents for centuries. Well also have different names, such as Daban Well nearby the West Gate (Ximen) and water quality is fresh and pure. Thanks to the water, a lot of tofu workshops make the particularly tasty tofu, where it can be found out how this popular food is produced in traditional way. People sit around a low grill as the service person tends their tofu. Once roasted to a golden brown, the tofu is eaten either straight, with sauce, or most frequently with a dash of chilli. You pay by the piece and the owner has a small container per customer and drops in a kernel of corn each time you get a piece off the grill. Then visit the second largest Confucian-temple in China, now is a famous cultural landmark, known for its beautiful traditional architecture and peaceful gardens.

Day 04 Jianshui to Yuanyang by driving B/L/D
In the morning visit Zhang Family Garden (Tuanshan Village), famous for its well-preserved Qing Dynasty architecture, ancient courtyards, stone lanes and decorative gates. Then stop at Double Dragon (Shuanglong) Bridge, known for its traditional Chinese architecture of 17 stone arches and 3 elegant pavilions, it’s a perfect place to enjoy beautiful reflections on the water. After that drive to Yuanyang (Aini and Yi people’s region) and take a hike/walk around the Rice Terrace and Aini people’s village. In the evening enjoy the sunset at the Yuanyang Rice Terraces which is one of the most spectacular sights in Yunnan. As daylight fades, the terraces mirror the changing colors of the sky, transforming the mountainside into a sea of shimmering light.
In the evening try the Hani people dishes as dinner.

Day 05 Yuanyang to Kunming via FuXian Lake by driving B/L/D
Enjoy the sunrise at the Yuanyang Rice Terraces which is a truly unforgettable experience. As the sun rises above the mountains, the water-filled terraces reflect the morning sky, while layers of mist drift through the valleys below. After breakfast, visit Local Market, a vibrant gathering place where people from different ethnic groups, including the Hani and Yi, come together to trade fresh produce, traditional foods, handicrafts, and daily necessities. It offers visitors an authentic glimpse into local life, culture, and customs in the Yuanyang region. In the afternoon drive back to Kunming. Then drive back to Kunming. Then stop at FuXian Lake which is the second deepest fresh water lake in China and have a fresh fish lunch in local fisherman’s house.
In the morning take high speed train to Dali (Bai people’s region), which is nicknamed as “Oriental Switzerland” and “Chinese Geneva”. After arrival visit Three Pagodas which is 1000 year old known as the landmark of Dali situated in front of Chongsheng Monastery, the Three Pagodas lie one kilometer northwest of Dali Old Town and located at the foot of Mount Cangshan which is over 4400 meters above sea level.
Then you could take a pleasant stroll in Dali Old Town which was the capital city of Nanzhao Kingdom 1100 years ago. The town is known for its picturesque setting, well-preserved traditional architecture and vibrant local culture. Inside the town’s ancient stone walls, visitors will find narrow streets with Bai-style houses, traditional courtyards, cafes, artisan shops and markets. Dali Ancient town has long been an important stop on the historic China Tea-Horse Road.
In the evening try the Bai people dishes as dinner.

Day 07 Dali to Lijiang by driving B/L/D
In the morning visit Xizhou morning market, Bai village Zhoucheng Village and go to a local Batik workshop give you the opportunity to learn how to make Bai People’s Tie-Dying. Tie-dyeing is a technology of printing flower patterns on cloth. Then drive to Lijiang (Naxi people’s region). Visit Lijiang Old Town, which is rare well-preserved ancient city of ethnic minority in China, which concentrated the essence of Naxi culture and remains the historical type formed since Song and Yuan Dynasty. It belongs to UNESCO Heritage Site.

In the morning take a visit to the Black Dragon Pool,Tagwww.Chinakindnesstour.com somewhat idiosyncratically known as Black Dragon Pool, the Jade Spring Park to the north of Lijiang derivers its name from the waters which sparkle like jade and are as clear as spring water. Then Dongba Culture Museum, displays on Naxi dress and culture, Dongba pictographic script, Lijiang’s old town and the dubious claim that the region is the “real” Shangri-la. After that, go to go to visit Baisha Ancient Mural. Baisha (White Sand) is located in the north of Lijiang. It is named this because of the large amount of white sand on the earth’s surface there. According to history Baisha is the earliest place for the settlement of Naxi nationality after they entered Lijiang basin. The present murals are all kept in Dabaoji Palace and Liuli Temple in Baisha. All of the 55 murals were masterpieces in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The biggest one is stored in Dabaoji Palace. In total, there are 100 vivid figures visible in it. Their facial expressions are vivid enough to show their happiness, anger, sadness and joys. All of the Baisha murals are about religion. However their uniqueness comes from the fact that they are the combination of Buddhism, Taoism and Lamaism, which is a very rare phenomenon.
