Day 02 Shantou—Chaozhou—Shantou
DDDwww.Chinakindnesstour.comAfter breakfast drive to Chenghai visit Former Residence of Chen Cihong which is the representation of Chaoshan dwellings. Chen Cihong (1843-1921) was a great overseas Chinese businessman and navigator. His family was very rich. As a saying goes, there is no other men richer than Chen Cihong in Chaozhou and Shantou. He was respected by the local people because he was an enthusiastic participator in public welfare by building schools, bridges and roads in his hometown. Then continue drive to Chaozhou and visit Floating Desalination Heritage Centre which is located in the southeast of Chaozhou Yan-foot peak, built under the advocating of Mr. Guo Fengyuan who was the president of Floating Desalination Center. Then take a visit to Han Wengong Temple, located on the foot of Bijia Mountain at the bank of Hanjiang River in Chaozhou. It was built in the Song dynasty to commemorate Hanyu, a famous historical scholar who helped local people to develop education, agriculture, irrigation and release slaves. There are 40 stele carvings of successive dynasties kept in the temple. When climbing to the “shilang pavilion”, you will have an overlook to Chaozhou City, the beautiful ancient city. In the afternoon visit the Kaiyuan Temple that is one of the only four extant Kaiyuan temples in China and one of the big four temples of Chaozhou. With a history of over 200 years, the temple is a Buddhist center embodied with the quintessence of the architectural art of various dynasties such as the Tang, the Song, the Yuan and the Qing. The temple is also home to the most influential Buddhism Study Institute in Southeast China. Then take Rickshaw around the ancient city.

Day 03 Shantou—Chaoyang—Shantou
DDDwww.Chinakindnesstour.comIn the morning drive to Chaoyang and visit Lotus Peak which got its name in 1278 when the army of Yuan (1271-1368) Court chased the Southern Song. As the leader of the reinforcements, Wen Tian
Xiang (a famous patriotic poet and official minister of Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279)) stood on the peak to look for the Song Emperor. Then he found that the shape of the peak looked like a blooming lotus and named it by carving the 'Lotus Peak' on a piece of stone. Then take a visit to Dahao Ancient City, Lingshan Ancient Temple and Ancient Dwellings Architecture. In the afternoon drive back to Shantou.
