| (D) Overnight in Shangri-la | Day 02 Drive and visit White Water Terrace, the three - square - kilometer Baishui Terrace lies snugly on a mountain slope 2,380 meters above sea level in Baidi Village, Sanba Township, 101 km southeast of the seat of Zhongdian County. The variegated karst landform of the tableland is an outcome of the continuous piling up of Tosco (calcite sediments), resulting from the disintegration of calcium bicarbonate contained in the water. | (B/L/D) Overnight in Baishuitai | Day 03 Drive to Deqin, visit Napahai Nature Reserve (natural reserve area), is situated 8 km (5 mi) north of Zhongdian County, in northwestern Yunnan, with grasslands and lakes which attract many bird species that winter here, including the endangered Black-necked cranes (Grus nigricollis). Black-necked cranes, of which only 6,000 remain in the world, usually breed in high-altitude wetlands but spend the winter at lower altitudes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau or on the Yunnan-Guizou Plateau, of which, Napahai is the main wintering spot. The breeding population of these exquisite birds, however, is in rapid decline due to habitat loss and changing agricultural practices which have affected the availability of food. Dongzhulinsi Temple, Baimang Snow Mountain, located in southeastern Deqen County, is in the eastern part of the northern section of the Yunling Mountains. Most of the peaks are 5,000 meters high, with the highest one-Mount Zhalaqueni-standing at 5,640 meters above sea level. The Yunnan-Tibet Highway passes through the mountain. Baimang Snow Mountain is the largest and highest national-level nature reserve. There are well preserved frigid-zone primeval forests of alpine coniferous trees. Most forests are untouched. | (B/L/D) Overnight in Baishuitai | Day 04 Visit Mingyong Glacier, on Mount Meili in Yunnan Province has reported no growth on its moving rate in recent years.Glaciers are always sensitive to changes in global climate. With the world’s climate warming up, almost all glaciers located in low latitude areas are facing problems of comprehensive melting. The melting of glaciers can result in floods, farmlands being inundated with water and mud-rock slides. Moreover, the drying up of ice lakes will lead to shrinking of rivers, causing severe drought. In addition, the disappearance of glacier landscapes is equivalent to the destruction of natural resources, which help scientific research and fuel the tourism industry. Feilai Temple. |

| (B/L/D) Overnight in Shangri-la | Day 06 After breakfast visit Songzanlin Tibetan Buddhism Monastery, which is 5 km from the seat of Shangri-la County. Construction began in 1679 and was completed in 1681. It is said that the Fifth Dalai Lama chose the site of the monastery through divination and named it "Gedan Songzanlin Monastery". In 1724, during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty, the monastery was renamed the "Guihua Monastery". During its time of greatest prosperity, there were more than 3,000 monks in the temple, now there are still 700 monks inside. Take flight to Kunming. Then take flight for leaving.
