Day 2: Xi’an B/L
eeewww.Chinakindnesstour.comAfter breakfast we will set out for another highlight of your tour, the Terracotta Warriors Museum. The thousands of life size soldiers and horses were created to guard the tomb of Qin Shi Huangdi, the first Emperor to unite China under his firm rule. The royal tomb itself has yet to be opened but the rank upon rank of Warriors is a sight that is unrivalled anywhere in the world. After lunch, we will visit the Provincial History Museum which has the richest collection of artifacts in China. For the last visit of the afternoon we will go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The square, seven-storey pagoda was built in 652 AD and is a fine example of Tang Dynasty Buddhist architecture.

Day 3: Xi’an – Urumqi by flight B/L

Xinjiang Museum which famous with Silk Road items and mummies unearthed from Taklimakan. The Museum features several fine exhibitions, among them a collection of mummies excavated throughout
Xinjiang and spanning more than 3,000 years of history (the oldest being more than 5,000 years in age). Visit a Silk Road exhibition and a series of exhibitions on the minority cultures of
Xinjiang..

Day 4: Urumqi B/L
eeewww.Chinakindnesstour.comIn the morning go to visit Tianchi (boat on the lake) a marvelous view of mountain lake formed more than million years ago in the 4th glacial epoch. It is famed as the "Jewel in the Crown". The pine trees covering the hillsides and the snow capped mountains in the background make the huge clear water spectacular sight-reminiscent of Switzerland or the Rocky mountains but somehow with more vibrancy and color. Bogda Peak-the highest peak stands to the east of the lake in the east part of Tianshan Mountain which is capped by glacier and snow glistening in the sun, finely contrasted with blue lake water, forming fabulous scenery.

Day 5: Urumqi – Turpan by driving B/L
eeewww.Chinakindnesstour.comAfter breakfast drive to Turpan. Visit village around Karez Well, the underground canal. It is one of the three greatest irrigation systems in ancient China together with the Jinghang Manmade Cannel, and the Dujiangyan Irrigation System. After lunch, visit to the Suliman's Minaret, a beautiful Persian-style tower and visit Jiaohe ancient city ruins (UNESCO World heritage site) , an ancient ruined city is preserved pretty well due to its high location and scanty rainfall.

Day 6: Turpan – Liuyuan by night train B/L
eeewww.Chinakindnesstour.comMorning visit Gaochang ruin, an ancient ruined city is preserved pretty well due to its high location and scanty rainfall. And visit Astana Tombs, where the dead of Gaochang were buried. The ancient tombs are clearly zoned according to families and castes with natural stones. Pass through the Flaming Mountain named of the red clay mountains reflect the heat and glow of the desert in the evenings and seem to burn. It is an intensely hot part of the desert without a single blade of grass to be seen for miles. In July, the mountains seem to be on fire in the burning sun and become a purplish-brown colour. Then visit Toyuk village. Have lunch at a local house at the village. After lunch drive through and visit Baizeklik Thousand Buddha Caves which is one of the largest Buddhist 'grotto'. Tonight take night train to Liuyuan.

Dunhuang to visit the Mingsha Shan (Singing Sands Mountain), located 6 kilometers ( 3.73 miles ) south of
Dunhuang city, Echoing-Sand Mountain which is also known as the sand dunes of Mingsha, offers superb picture-look desert scenery. The dune, surrounded by rolling ridges and precipitous cliffs, reaches a relative height of 250 meters (820 feet). Later, visit Crescent Moon Spring. The Crescent Moon Spring is embraced in the bosom of the Mingsha Mountain and obtained its name for its crescent-like shape. Formerly called “Sand Well” or “Medicine Spring” with the floor area of 0.88 hectares and average depth of water as about 3 meters, it boasts sweet and cool water, clear as the mirror. After more than several thousand years, the spring survived even in the dry desert. Inside the spring are various grass and fishes contrasting nicely with the mountain around. In the afternoon visit the Mogao Grottoes also known as Thousand Buddha Cave is one of three noted grottoes in China and also the largest, best preserved and richest treasure house of Buddhist art in the world. Despite years of erosion, the murals are still brightly colored, with clear lines. Through pictures of different styles and schools drawn in different historical periods, they tell Buddhist stories and ways as well as life in the secular world.

Dunhuang – Jiayuguan by driving and take night train to Lanzhou B/L

Gansu Province. Viewing in a distance, it seems overhang in the sky, hence its name Overhanging Great Wall. At the same time, its magnificence and appearance resembles the Ba
Daling Great Wall in
Beijing, so it is also called “the Western Ba
Daling Great Wall”. Then visit First Fire Tower of Great Wall, which is reputed as the world’s first frustum, or cut-off pyramid, which symbolizes the west starting point of the Ming Great Wall. Built in the year of 1539 during the Ming Dynasty, the frustum is like a square pyramid with a flat top. Through hundreds of year’s weather exposure, some walls have been damaged, which makes the present frustum steeper, leaning to the cliff. Fortunately, the local government has invested amounts of money recent years to build a stretch of ancient style wall as a fence to better preserve the precious relics. Standing on the tower, visitors can experience the grandeur of an ancient civilization while appreciating the marvelous view of the vast Gobi. In the evening transfer to train station to take night train to Lanzhou.

Gansu Provincial Museum which opens a marvelous world for you. Colored pottery depicting flowers, powerful and simple wood carvings from the Han Dynasty, exquisite Buddhist sculptures, relics left by the Great Wall and the Silk Road, all of which have vivid ethnic features, are displayed. Particularly, the colorful pottery is worth seeing as
Gansu is the hometown of colorful pottery, where the oldest colored pottery in China was found. Next visit Yellow River Mother Sculpture. The whole sculpture contains that of a mother and a baby. The mother with long hair, slim figure, lying on he undulate water looks happy and kind. On her breast a small kid who bear na?ve smile. The sculpture connotes that the Yellow River has nourished generations of Chinese. Then Five Springs Mountain Park, which has a history of more than 2,000 years. The five springs are Ganlu, Juyue, Mozi, Hui and Meng. The park also boasts ancient Buddhist architecture. With a long history and elegant surroundings, the park holds an important place in Lanzhou, especially on the 8th of the fourth Moon, when the Temple Fair is held. Followed by White Pagoda Temple on Baita Mountain, the temple is the earliest building on the mountain which was built in Yuan Dynasty. The temple has survived several serious earthquakes after completed. Zhongshan Iron Bridge is the symbol of Lanzhou City for its majestic looks and uniqueness. The bridge was first built under the reign of the Ming Dynasty. The Qing rulers expanded and reconstructed the bridge to its current size and style at the cost of huge funds. At last visit Waterwheel Garden where you can get an idea of the old irrigation tool. The waterwheel was introduced from southern
Yunnan Province to Lanzhou by a local who had been an official in
Yunnan. The first waterwheel was made successfully in 1556 on the north bank of the Yellow River. Up to 1952 there were altogether 252 waterwheels lining both banks of the River. Today this replica has become an attraction with a park founded around it. At night take train to
Beijing.

Beijing train station at 2:30 pm, meet local guide and transfer to visit Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Dominating the north side of the square is the massive red Tian’anmen Gate through which we will pass into the fabled Forbidden City and another age, where we will see the home of the members of the royal family and their court during China’s Ming and Qing Dynasties.
