Sanya International Golf Club
Located in the western part of Sanya, about 30 minutes from the center of Dadonghai, Sanya International Golf Club offers up an 18-hole course. It is only 15 minutes' drive to the Phoenix International Airport. The facilities there are well equipped which include a clubhouse, guest rooms, restaurants, entertainment venues and pro-shop. Shoes and clubs rental are also available.
How to get there: drive east along Fenghuang (Phoenix) Road and reach the National Highway No.225, go along for 7.6 kilometers and take the West Highway, and follow the road signs.
Yalong Bay Golf Club
Yalong Bay Golf Club is located in the national resort in Sanya, just 15 minutes' drive from Sanya Phoenix International Airport and 25 minutes to the downtown area. The environment is bathed in the sea breezes and tropical sunshine. The golf club offers up an 18-hole tournament-quality course. Many five-star hotels such as Hilton, Marriot, Sheraton, Crowne Plaza and Horizon are situated around it.
Sanya Sun Valley Golf Club
Located 30 minutes' drive from Sanya Phoenix Airport, Sanya Sun Valley Golf Club is a 7,875 yard, par 73 championship golf courses. The course is a tough test and the greens are huge. It also boasts the longest hole in China. Golf players here enjoy both the high quality of the course and the kindly environment.
How to get there: it is 20 minutes' drive from hotels on Dadonghai Bay and 30 minutes' drive from Sanya Bay. Follow the road signs.
Water sports
Sanya is well known for its blue sky, azure sea and white sandy beaches. It boasts the most beautiful sea scenery in China. The water sports from sunbathing to climbing a hill are all of great joy. Visitors are encouraged to play surfing, scuba, snorkeling and water skiing. Bear in mind the safety when you are doing water sports.
Dadonghai Beach
Located three kilometers southeast of downtown Sanyan and between Mt. Luhuitou and Mt. Tuziwei, Dadonghai Beach is one of the most popular seaside holiday resorts in Hainan Province. There is a 2.3-kilometers long and crescent-shaped sea. The warm sunshine, clear sea, white sand and lush woods create a charming tropical ambience in the area.
How to get there: Taxi or bus No.2 or No. 4 from Sanya downtown area to Dadonghai.
Rock climbing
The island of Hainan offers many good places for testing vertical climbing and bouldering skills. The city of Sanya is a popular place for rock climbing. Visitors can find some reputable hotels and travel agencies in the city that provide trips.
