Dunhuang Industrial Art Factory was established in 1956 as the first to produce touring handicraft articles such as luminous wine cups. The factory has 120 staff and workers, with a property of more than 2,60 million yuan. It occupies 3600 square meters, in which 2300 square meters are building area. Its main products are series of luminous wine cups, Dunhuang color sculptures, handicraft articles of wood carving, goods made of jewelry and crystal, Mogao Grottoes picture album, etc, altogether more than 100 species of 12 kinds.
In recent years, Dunhuang Industrial Arts Factory and Luminous Wine Cups Factory aim at development and excavation of Dunhuang touring market, and consolidate administration. It has now developed into the biggest factory of Dunhuang City, which integrates production, supply and sales of touring handicraft articles. It has also established an integrative service system.
In order to display the world famous Dunhuang cultural art and the elaborate works of handicraft articles, and to promote international friendship, the Industrial Art Factory and Luminous Wine Cups Factory built Mogaozhai Exhibition Hall in 1965. The hall, which exhibits all kinds of handicraft articles of high quality, is also a biggest monopolistic shop of industrial art and touring keepsake. The number of forging and domestic tourists coming here for visiting or shopping reaches 300 million every year. The luminous wine cups, which trademark is "Feitian", and other handicraft articles produced here are on sale in more than 10 countries and regions, and won the certification of province level in 1989. The luminous cups are great favor to the tourists for its beautiful shape and unique style.
