
Pine-and Crane Restaurant, located in Guanqian Street in
Suzhou downtown area, was opened in the 2nd year of Qianlong (1737). It is the most renowned old one among old Subang Food restaurants with more than 100 years of history, which are preserved up till today.
Pine-and-Crane Restaurant gathers famous Subang cooks together. It surpasses others in inheriting and expanding the traditional Su Dish characteristics of stewing, braising, warming and simmering, in selection of materials and in cutting skills and temperature control. Each dish is excellent in color, smell, taste and shape. It is also famous for hosting banquets.
Pine-and-Crane Restaurant makes innovations from time to time based upon its inherited tradition in preparing dishes. There are up to dozens of famous dishes it makes, such as squirrel mandarin fish, original shark's fin, white soup soft-shelled turtle, stewed prawn (shrimp meat), lotus leaf steamed powder-wrapped meat, hilsa herring wrapped in net, fried cel paste, Hong Bridge Pearl, jujube red chick, jadeite shrimp meat, snow-flower crab, fried whole chick, pie wild duck, chick and rape heart, boiled black carp.
