Brief Introduction:
Xi'an China International Travel Agency Group Co. Ltd. (Originally named as China Intern
ational Travel Agency Xi'an Branch) was founded in 1956. It is the travel agency which, among the travel agencies in Shaanxi Province, was founded the earliest, is of the largest scale, is able to serve in most kinds of languages, is of the best credit standing, and receives the most visitors, one of the major members of China International Travel Agency Group, and also the biggest travel agency in Chinese inland cities. Since 1978, the travel agency has received Chinese and foreign visitors for more than 2 million person times, over 200,000 of which were received in 1993 only, which was half of the total person times that were received organically in Shaanxi.
It has been praised in the general evaluation of the National Travel Bureau as No.3 in accomplishing business in the whole country and as No.8 generally for 3 years consecutively, in 1996, No.7 generally. And it has been granted the title of "The Best Unit" for consecutive 8 years by the provincial government in the activity of "To Achieve Best, To Show Worst" of Shaanxi Province.
Its major task is to drum for and receive domestic and foreign visitors, and at the same time, it has been authorized to deal with Chinese citizens who want to go abroad for a journey. New, the travel agency possesses a troop of near 300 trained full time interpreters and guides of high education who know English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Korean, Thais and other kinds of languages.
To undertake the reform and opening up, the travel agency has carved out the business scope circumfusing tourism. It has launched the Tangle Palace, the Travel Car Company, the Three Gorges Yacht Company, the Travel Commercial Trade Company, the Colorful Butterfly Photography Company and etc. Among them, the Tangle Palace has been appraised as one of the first places for overseas visitors to disport at night in China by the National Travel Bureau. It can provide circumspect services for domestic and foreign travelers to visit the Three Gorges. Also the travel agency can provide circumspect international airplane tickets services as the first agent for IATA, the international Airlines Association, in Northwest China.
