Nanxi Hill is situated in the south of Guilin, about one kilometer away from the railway station. The east and west peaks of the Hill tower high. Draped in a veil of gray mist, they offer a spectacular view. Most of the hills in Guilin are dark green with the only exception, Nanxi Hill tinted with white. There are many peculiar caves including White Dragon Cave and Liu Xian Cave. The earliest explorer of Nanxi Hill was the Inspector of Tang Dynasty named Libo and he liked these caves so much that he engraved his poem named "Farewell Nanxi" in one of the caves. The Dragon Spine Pavilion between the two peaks is the best place to sightsee the city of Guilin. The White Dragon Bridge is on Nanxi River. The White Dragon Spring to the north of the Hill is a well-known spring in Guilin. |
