the top of the list of more than 10 famous "Fishing Platforms" in China, the Yan Ziling's Fishing Platform lies on the bank of the beautiful Fuchun River, 75 kilometers away from downtown Hangzhou. In the area, there are many simple and unsophisticated structures with painted walls, shining tiles, and cornices. The platform is composed of Eastern and Western Platforms, which are a hundred meters high and facing each other in magnificence, known as "Double-Platform Fishing". The Eastern Platform was the place where Yan Ziling, a celebrity in the Eastern Han Dynasty fished, and the Western Platform was the place where the patriot Xie Ao in the Southern Song Dynasty mourned the martyr Wen Tianxiang in tears. Numerous talented and virtuous persons and men of letters wrote poems or painted pictures here.
In addition to the two platforms, there are the Kexing Pavilion, the Breeze Chamber, the Peace Hut, the World's 19th Spring, the Noble Loft, the Cangbo Bridge and other scenic spots and historical sites. The newly-built "Fuchun River Epigraph Park", with more than 100 steles, displays in a concentrated way Chinese literature, poetry, sculpture, calligraphy, sphragistics, cliff painting and other oriental arts.
