Once called Bao'an Temple in ancient times, Dafo Temple was founded in Tang Dynasty and had been neglected for years. It was reconstructed in the 42nd year of Ming Wanli Period (1614), and rebuilt several times later. In 1929, Changhui and Changzhi rebuilt the Dizang Hall inside the Gate again. Behind it stands the Daxiong Hall and on both sides stand the side halls. The halls of the temple altogether cover an area of 543 square meters.
Presently, the Dafo Temple has taken on a new look, and has been turned into a great Buddhist ritual place.
