The Blue Dragon Temple was built on the high tower north of Tielumiao Village southeast of the Xi'an City in 582. It's almost 3 kilometers away from the city. It's the ancestor temple of Japanese Mizong (the name of one sect) of Buddhism. From the beginning to the middle of the 9th century, Japan ever sent a lot of monks, including Xuewensengs (Xue means to learn, wen means to ask) and Qingyisengs (Qing means to take in, Yi means to benefit), to learn from laws at the Tang Dynasty, thus "8 specialists to Tang" became famous, among whom 6 learned in the Blue Dragon Temple, and Monk Konghai was one of the 6. In 1982, monument for Konghai was built in the temple.
