The Square of the south Gate was used after being built in 1996, situated outside the southern gate of the circumvallation of the Ming Dynasty. The square is composed of several blocks of lawns of virescence, between which are the channels for passersby. It's beautifully sculpted with expansive vision. The building of this square greatly eases the strained and crowded traffics that took place originally. It services as a foil and gives prominence to the grandeur and splendor of the city tower at the southern gate, and also provides a place for the hurry people to take a short rest and stay.
