
Located at No.5 Guangfu Beilu Road, it is the palace of Aisin Giorro Puyi, who was the puppet emperor in Manchukuo during the Japanese occupation. The palace was built in 1932, covering 12 hectares. It was composed of the inner and outer courts. The inner court was divided into east and west courts, with three buildings in the former, and two halls and one imperial garden in the latter.
Puppet Palace
Located at northeastern part of
Changchun City, the palace covers 120,000 square meters. It was the palace of Puyi, the emperor of Qing Dynasty, who ascended the throne for the third time to become the puppet emperor of the Japanese-created state of Manchukuo. The palace was divided into the inner and outer courts, with the former as the living quarters for Puyi and his relatives, while the latter was where he conducted his political activities. There were two courts in the inner court. The West court houses the Jixi building, and the west court Tongde Hall. The outer court has two buildings, one hall and an imperial garden. There are waxen statues mirroring historical figures in the palace to help people understand the puppet emperor's political and daily life. In addition, there were an imperial garden, swimming pool, horseracing hall, imperial cinema and a dining hall.
