The remains are located in Pingfang District, Harbin. In the Second World War, Japanese imperialists encroached upon common international law and established the largest contingent of germ war in the world's war history. In order to keep the secret, the contingent was called Unit 659 of Manzhou. Its headquarters in Harbin was called Unit 731. There were four detachments, namely, Unit 162 in Linkou, Unit 543 in Haila'er, Unit 673 in Sunwu and Unit 643 in Mudanjiang (Hailin). The Japanese invaders also established an experimental factory in Anda and a clinic in Dalian.
