Built in 1926 and completed in 1929, this largest Confucius Temple in northeast China used to cover 60,000 square meters and has only an area of 23,000 square meters now. With 5,674 square meters in the floor space, the temple is a courtyard of three sections. With typical architectural style of Qing Dynasty, it is centered at Dacheng Hall and separated by an axis from south to north. Yellow tiles are used in the main buildings in the temple and the roof also reflects the royal style of Qing Dynasty.
The architectural style in the accompanying halls is different. The sharp contrast not only shows the grandeur and splendour of the main buildings but also clearly reflects the hierarchy in the feudal China.
