Folk Custom Village of Nanhong Manchus People in Liaodian Town is 13 kilometers east of E Cheng Village. Rich in fertile land and products, 95% of the people in the village are Manchus. Over 800 years ago, Nuzhen people, the predecessor of the Manchus lived in this mysterious land and established their outstanding culture. Up to now, some folk customs, unique in Manchus, still exist here.
Manchus like to wear gowns, called "Yijie" in their language. Since that is the daily dresses for the people in the banner, it is called Cheongsam. The men of Manchus like to wear a special kind of shoes in winter. Sewn with cattle leather or deer skin, this kind of shoes are warm and light, not easy to wear out. The Manchu women prefer the high-heeled shoes, which will make them look taller and slimmer.
