The Huitang Hot Spring is located in the Huitang town southwest of Ningxiang County. The spring water is hot as boiling water with steam and vapors like gray mists, hence the name. This hot spring, together with the Yangbajing Spring in Tibet and the North Pole Spring in Taiwan, are known as the three high-temperature composite springs. The temperatures of this spring can reach up to 89.5 degrees Celsius. Its water contains 29 kinds of trace elements good for human health, including K, Na, Ca, Mg, and Zn. The water is characterized by its high temperatures, alkalinity, high fluorine content, and low mineralization. It has a magical healing effect on inflammation, maintaining a sedative state, regulation of physiological functions and improvement of blood circulation and heart function, particularly when used to treat various kinds of dermato pathy and rheumatism.
