The Tomb was built on top of a mountain. Madding use of the mountain as its coffin chamber, the grave is composed of the exterior sealing earth, a path leading to the tomb, the pit and the chamber. The grave pit is a shaft in a rock and the burial encasement is a large wooden structure including a passage, the "Ti" (title), the outer coffin, the anteroom, the outer corridor, the inner corridor, the coffin and the sheathed coffins. There are doors to link the passage, anteroom, corridors and the coffins. The sheathed coffins include three layers, all made of Chinese catalpa. This tomb is a royal family's tomb built in line with the burial system of the "Son of the Heaven System." The amount of timber used in the grave was 500 cubic meters. A thousand pieces of wood were used to build the "Ti".
