It is one of the five tourist zones developed by Sichuan Province. The zone occupies an area of 2.5 square km, and is located in the middle of the west Sichuan plain. It enjoys convenient transportation, at a distance of 18km from Chengdu city, 35 km from Dujiang Dam city, and 20 km from the Shuangliu airport of Chengdu and 1.5 km from the Wenjiang-Qionglai expressway. The zone consists of three parts of recreation, villas and trade and commerce. Approved to be set up in May 1991, it has completed the recreational facilities of Wenjiang Golden Horse International Racecourse, Golden Horse Lucky Recreational Center, Sichuan Golden Horse Military Recreational Center and Chengdu Wenjiang International Shooting Club. Other facilities include the convention center, training center, and holiday village and so on.
