The provincial-level Chaoying lake scenic zone is located in Pujiang County, 78km from
Chengdu, with a total area of 110 square km. It is comprised of Chaoyang, Changtan and Shixiang (stone elephant) lakes and the Feixian (fairy flying) pavilion. Here, cultural relics, folk customs, local residences and farmhouses and field sights are blended into a fascinating view.
Visitors can take boats for sight-seeing and on Changtan lake, recreational facilities are provided including landing on water with the aid of a parachute, motorcycle racing on water, and sliding on water to experience risks. Well-known sights are the precipitous and deep "Tongtian Cave" (cave linking with heaven), the Lotus Mountain where one can enjoy scenes reflected by sunlight in early morning and the evening, the "Mulan Island" which is full of flowers, the Crane Mountain, pine-tree covered "Qinu Peak", and the mysterious "Fengdong Stone" (wind-blowing stone).
