The Longmen Mountain Provincial Scenic Resort at provincial level is located in northwest Pengzhou, 89 km from
Chengdu with an area of 308 square km. The highest peak-the South Gate, is 4,814 meters above sea level. The resort includes the big valley (originally called Yincang Valley), Jiufeng Mountain, Small-dragon pool, Taizi Town, Masong Hill, and Danjing Mountain. Here, mountains stretch long and unbroken and are covered with vast primitive forests. The valleys are deep with torrents, many flying waterfalls and strange rocks. The winding pland road forms the longest of those in well-known scenic spots in China. In the southwest of the area, peonies blossom every where. At this spot, visitors can see the sun rise, sea of cloud, Buddha's Halo and other simple natural sights.
